Now that I've signed the lease to the place in Brooklyn, it's time to start packing up things in Pittsburgh. Ill-timed but well-intentioned, I invited folks over for one last meal and party. Throwing down on the day after Christmas meant a lot of people weren't able to make it out, seeing as they have families of their own and such. What about my needs?

This post has been devised to taunt y'inz with what could have been a a celebration of friendship, a night of heartwarming cheer and merriment.

It is also to provide you with a multimedia experience that you may have and share in the comfort of your own homes.

So there's a relatively new donut shop in the Strip District. People are raving about the donut's freshness, their deliciousness and how the owner is something of a bigot. One post from his blog, http://ronrazete.blogspot.com/2009/01/big-day.html:

Based on the cast of characters that President Obama has picked to govern with him, it promises to be a truly historic four years. Sadly, I'll wager that these four years (and God help us all if he gets eight, but with this dilusional, uneducated and morally bankrupt voting base he has, he's a shoe-in) will go down in history as the straw that broke the camel's back. I ran to my observation tower and gazed out upon the landscape. The air was thick with tension and heavy with the aromas of the unshowered masses. "Help Keep Lawrenceville Clean!" I shouted. They only strummed banjos and banged beat up drums. Maybe they couldn't hear me. I decided to get a little closer.

As I had wheels, thorough knowledge of the roadways and could deploy the Pittsburgh dialect to earn the trust of those around me, I ventured out in the city to see how we were preparing for the anticipated onslaught of anarchists.

August 15, 2009 marked the end of Omega Love. The band was breaking up. This also marked the final APHQ Midnight BBQ.

When the band would play at the Thunderbird Cafe in Lawrenceville, they'd come over after the shows to unwind. I live next door. It was wonderfully convenient.

But, oh, there's a twist: because I am 1950's housewife, I feel obligated to provide food and drink to any guests that arrive. Most nights I planned for five courses, and occasionally there were seven. Food was always free, donations were always welcome, drinks were always BYOB.
