Peace, Love and Little Donuts.

This post goes out to Ron. My beliefs haven't changed, I and know yours haven't either, but I think everybody ought to get a chance to escape their past.

To Where?

Tuesday, December 13 2011

I'm coming out of the Carnegie Museum of Art, looking at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History.

I see a portal entry thing and I assume there is a time travel device at the end of that hall.

Japan, Day Minus Two. Or One.

I left my car at the grandparent's place, waved goodbye (as always), and rode with my parents to PIT.

From there I took a flight to LAX, dealt with the terminal to terminal shuttle madness, waited, disoriented and hungry, for the long flight to the orient. It's September 30th right now. I land in Yonago on the 2nd of October. If it's already tomorrow in Japan (bless those people for living in the future), and it takes a day from here to arrive, what day is this of my trip?

I heard these guys behind me as I took a little time to stroll around after my meetings. They were singing uptempo Sublime songs, medley format, to the ladies they'd pass. I'm not sure it was doing them any good. I don't think they let it get them down.

I just sort of guessed at the focal range here. These shots were taken with the camera pointed west, held under my armpit, while I was walking east.

A few of the other women seen in downtown Pittsburgh while shooting Sara for the Babes on Bikes calendar. I saw few that looked any different - more or less resigned to fate - than these.

Things I Miss Just a Little Bit: The Butler Street Coin-Operated Laundry

I do miss having a laundromat on the block. I miss having my quarters sometimes count. I miss my few dryers which didn't have holes cut into them to collect the loose change fallingfrom tumbling pockets. I miss my triple-loading machine that was labeled for $4 but would secretly accept $3.75. I miss the washer that had a broken door needing to be slammed extra hard to seal it but when people didn't know this after they put in their money they walked away and I would use it at their expense.
