Truck at Rest

March 1, 1998

I was 17. I'd just walked out of Musik Innovations with some of my other drumline friends, and this was unfolding on Route 19. I had my camera and a pouch of TMAX 400. I had to shoot the wreckage.

Nobody was injured.

I left my info with the firefighters and the man who owned the truck. We later talked once about him buying the prints. The next day he called the high school to demand the photos with the angle that I was shooting for a class and he rightfully owned whatever I shot, like it was his tax dollars at work or something. I wasn't and it wasn't.

That was my first encounter with the photo business.
