The smell of pine tar, the whirrrrr of a wood chipper.
Piles of discared Christmass trees at the north end of McCarren Park.
Heaps of trees.
Just heaps and heaps of trees.
So damn many trees.
Sorting the trees, loading the hopper.
And away we goooooo!
A few trees made it through the chipper.
But pine trees are filled with pine sap.
And that pine sap eventually clogged this machine.
Few things illustrate our tendency to consume without regard for consequece like the piles of dried-up Christmas trees dropped off at the parks around New York City.
