A Spring Day in McCarren Park

This is the first really nice day we've had in months. Spring wants to happen. Despite the temperature only hitting a high of 64F today, the park was well-stocked with people at leisure. I went to McCarren Park to practice my camera math in setting sunlight. I wanted to see what I could do with the abundant shadows and glorious moment-implying backlight.

I couldn't help but notice the number of people sitting in the grass, thumbing and swiping at their iPhones. This sort of defeats the purpose of being outside in a park to me, but what do I know about what they might be viewing or to whom they're texting?
