I got to thinking tonight about words typically associated with slaugter used to explain the quality of a musical performance. Some of those slaughterin' words have a positive connotation. Others have a negative connotation.
If I told you the old man with the guitar was killing it when singing Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's "Helpless" and the old guy with the keyboard murdered an Al Green tune, "Here I Am" done in the reggae style of UB40's cover, which would you think was the better performer?
