I'm observing Leslie Allison's Bath Piece at the Room and Board Salon #4 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, across the street from my old apartment, so I can properly shoot the cleansing chorale later tonight.
A little bit about this from the invite email:
Dear friends of Room & Board,
It's my pleasure to invite you to our next salon evening, coming up next Thursday at 7pm. Our current resident, Leslie, and her chorus of subsidiary sirens have been sending peals of song through my house, and I'm tremendously excited to share their hard work with you. Some advance planning is required, however, so please read the below carefully.
Leslie's salon on Thursday, April 30 will feature a work called Bath Piece, an intimate performance that only allows for a limited audience size. For that reason, there will be three performances: at 7:30, 8:30, and 9:30. You can sign up for one of the performances when you arrive at the salon, though latecomers may not get their first choice. You are welcome to put your name down for one of the performances in advance by replying to this email, but please only do so if you are sure you can be there at the time you signed up for. We want to ensure that everyone can be part of this piece.
The conversation and mirth will continue downstairs while the performances take place upstairs. The salon will begin at 7pm, and whichever performance of Bath Piece you attend, we welcome you to come at 7 to craft custom cocktails/potions together and spend some time with an installation Leslie devised downstairs.
I promise you all a special evening and look forward to seeing you there! As always, salons take place at my apartment, the ground floor of 153 Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg.
Best,
Julia
