The History of The Internet via the Society for the Advancement of Social Studies, Williamsburg

Tonight I went to the Society for the Advancement of Social Studies (SASS) lecture in Williamsburg, held in a cleverly-named bar called The Bedford, a block from my old place, on my old street, Bedford Avenue.

SASS's theme this month the was definitely totally easy to condense and explain History of The Internet, conveniently packaged into three fifteen-minute lectures. Wikipedia editors take note: three things. Just three. You're overdoing it.

The three lectures covered the rise of the .GIF, how computers became personal, and the history of fan fiction. The history of fan fiction lecture was my favorite, mostly because I got all the Star Trek jokes in it.
