Grandpa Bob was once a serious hobbyist photographer. Having kids got in the way of continuing with it, he said.
Most of what images he had he's since thrown out – all the negatives, all the prints of my dad and his brothers growing up. Grandpa Bob assumed that nobody wanted to look at them anymore. He's like that.
A few prints and some negatives remained. He gave me the small stack of mixed, mostly medium format, negatives in a small manilla envelope. I asked him not to throw any more out if he finds them. I could scan them back to ilfe. "Archving in my job in New York," I said.
I have no idea what's in there. I'll find out later.
