The Mighty East River is Murky Today.
I know there's been bad weather upstate. I assume the brown water is a result of all the run off. I assume the recent rains in the city have carried a lot of sludge and sewage down to this point. I assume the people at my right wading into this barefoot, and encouraging their toddler to also do so, aren't aware of these same things.

A Man Scrawling in the Wet Concrete near Washington Heights, New York City.
As I was approaching the George Washington Bridges, sitting in traffic, attempting to escape from the threats of hurricane Irene, I saw this man entering himself into permanent record of the now-wet concrete sidewalk.
